I'll just be straightforward about this. I think Rinoa is an excellent character. I don't know what all this online buzz about "Rinoa is weak, sucks, and made Squall into a lovey-dovey pansy" is. I mean, how many female Final Fantasy characters don't use white magic most of the time? I admit that she's not the best character to have in battle (she's unplayable for quite some time), but she, as whole, isn't terrible at all. She's one of the prettiest characters I've come across, and I believe she has a beautiful spirit.

I particularly envy her for her role in leading the resistance faction, the Timber Owls. It shows what kind of person she is; she'd go through all sorts of measures just to stand by her own beliefs. Even if Squall says her strategy plans aren't "professional", you'll have to give her credit for at least trying (plus, she has no military experience either). She also has the courage to hate her own father and home town, but it takes a greater amount to actually stand up against them. Now, how many people do you know who do that?
